"Longwood Through the Lens" March 13 - April 16, 2006 Longwood Gardens Music Room
"Longwood Through the Lens" was the theme for the exhibition by the Chester County Camera Club for the Longwood Gardens Centennial celebration opening in March 2006.
Camera Club members submitted 125 images for consideration for the exhibition. A panel of three judges -- two professional photographers and a representative from Longwood Gardens -- reviewed the submissions in a lengthy closed-door session. No Club members were present for the judging. Fifty images representing all aspects of the Gardens were selected. Of the 50 images, five were identified by the judges for awards.
Congratulations to Club members:
First Place: Ray Doyle, "Water Lily"
Second Place: Sally G. Riddle, "Rippled Green"
Third Place: Gordon Wissinger, "Serenity at Longwood"
Honorable Mention: Kelly Heaton, "White Dahlia"
Longwood Select: Sophie Ghedin, "Bling Bling at Longwood"

The CCCC Longwood Committee extends its appreciation to all who collaborated in making "Longwood Through the Lens" the exciting exhibition we imagined:
To Longwood Gardens for offering the Club such an extraordinary opportunity and generous access to the Gardens with complimentary passes and tripod permits. (Oh, we'll miss those tripod permits!)
To the committed and enthusiastic members of the CCCC who spent hours photographing and preparing images for submission to "Longwood Through the Lens." The images were outstanding and represented a wide variety of creative perspectives of Longwood.
To the judges who undertook the responsibility of narrowing the images to a number the Longwood Gardens' displays would accommodate. We appreciate your willingness to assist us in this difficult task.
