A great group of  Chester County Camera Club photographers and friends gathered for the end-of year party and awards celebration in the Mira Room of the Chester County Hospital. Party-planner Jackie Brady created a festive atmosphere for a summer celebration including a chili-cook-off contest!  This year there was a tie for the best chili, and the hot chili pepper trophy was shared by Susan Eisenhower and Nancy Cordaro.

President Betsy Wilson presented a slide show of highlights from the past year, including some fun photos from speaker presentations, pre-meetings, outings and workshops. A special engraved silver whistle was presented to outings chair Howard Sundwall in recognition of the fantastic outings this year including two new bus trips.

A thank you and gift card was presented to all Steering Committee members and volunteers. Then Betsy announced a special recognition of the Meta-Pixel Award for an exceptional volunteer for commendable service and dedication.  This year we saluted two honorees, Anita Bower and George Chiodo.

Betsy introduced incoming President Bob Kelly, who reviewed highlights of the upcoming year and stressed the importance of our volunteers. Bob outlined some new committees for next year and announced a new presentation and exhibit to take place in February at Penn State Great Valley.

Betsy announced the winner of the CCCC logo contest and congratulated Dick Greenwood who received a gift card.

Betsy and Bob then presented the People’s Choice Awards and Photographer of the Year.

Ribbons and gift cards were presented to the People’s Choice winners:

3rd place – Eric Loken, “Angry Bird”

2nd place – Antonio Cortada, “Carolina Wood Duck”

1st place – Betsy Wilson, “Five Pears”

Photographer of the Year was presented to Carol DeGuiseppi for achieving the most competition points throughout the year.  Carol was honored with a trophy and a gift card.

Betsy gave a few words reflecting over her two years as president, and thanked the membership for giving her the opportunity to give back to the club that has given so much to her.  Membership coordinator Ginia Apostolacus then thanked Betsy for her service and dedication, and presented her with a special gift of a digital photo frame.

It was a fun evening that truly celebrated the members and volunteers that make the Chester County Camera Club a unique and meaningful organization.
